INTERACTIVE CONTENT

It’s no secret that the quality of content plays a large role in the success of your social media marketing endeavors. However, beyond great imagery, videos, and well used focus words, interactive content is the most effective way to engage users and motivate them to share. Some of the most popular tools are quizzes, polls, and calls-to-action (i.e. “comment below” or “click the link for more”). You can get very creative with this, but remember to stay true to your brand.

CONSISTENT BRAND VOICE AND PERSONA

Your brand voice is just as important as your logo – actually, your logo is a part of the voice of your brand. It is anything that speaks for you without you actually speaking. Understandably so, ensuring that your voice is consistent across all social media channels and marketing efforts in general is imperative. Things to remember when establishing the brand’s voice are your target market, your product, and  the brand’s “personality”. If your brand were a person, what three words would you use to describe it? That’s where you start. Once you’ve developed your persona and voice, the content will come easily and the users searching for that content will find you. Which brings us to our last tip, hashtags.

RELEVANT AND ORIGINAL HASHTAGS

The proper use of hashtags makes your content easy to find for users looking for information on your brand, a particular campaign, an event, or anything you’ve shared on your social channels. Because of this, it is important to include relevant hashtags. It’s tempting to go overboard adding a ton of trending tags to increase visibility, however; if they don’t relate to your post it can damage your brand’s credibility. Relevancy is key.

Just as important, is the number of hashtags per post, as it can considerably boost or hurt engagement. For Instagram, we suggest 5-10 per post; while the platform allows for up to 30, it is best practice to find your most effective number within that range. Facebook is at the complete other end of the spectrum, we recommend only using one if any at all, as they neither increase nor decrease engagement on Facebook. When tweeting, an effective number of tags is 1-2 per tweet, any more than that can greatly decrease engagement

Lastly, when running social media campaign, creating an original hashtag allows you to track engagement without sifting through non-related posts containing a commonly used tag. The best way to market an original hashtag is by partnering with influencers – that’s another topic for another day.

Just starting out and even growing an already existing social media following can feel like a daunting task, but if you stay true to your brand and always keep your customer in mind you’re on the right track. Good luck, have fun and feel free to contact us with any questions!
