Bella Buzz – Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2016 Recap

New York Fashion Week came and went! Now that we have had some time to catch our breath (and a few more hours of beauty sleep) we’re ready to share our favorite moments of New York Fashion Week 2016.

Leanne Marshall

It’s like we died and went to tulle and ruffle heaven. Leanne Marshall’s pieces were the perfect blend of romantic and edgy. We couldn’t help but fall in love with her last look, the black tulle gown that we will forever be wearing in our dreams. The show was held at the Skylight at Clarkson Square and gave spectators an up close and personal experience with each of her pieces no matter where you were sitting. Like her hashtag for the show, we were left saying “lovely Leanne.”

On the opposite side of the fashion spectrum, Laurel DeWitt wowed us with her hand-crafted metal collection. Her headpieces and intricate dresses can only be described as breathtaking. The show was held at 1 Oak, which made for a very cool and trendy backdrop as the models walked through the audience. While waiting for the show to start, Laurel had crowns placed around the venue for attendees to take selfies in and cupcakes by B Cake NY as a little post Fashion Week pick me up.

Notable Moments

Aside from everyone almost freezing, there were a number of surprises throughout the week.  Lady Gaga has been everywhere lately and we don’t hate it. The New York native made an appearance walking in the Marc Jacobs show looking every bit the model part. She was in good company walking alongside Kendall Jenner, who looked nothing like her California girl self. Supermodel Gigi Hadid opened and closed Tommy Hilfiger’s nautical-themed show as the two prepare to collab on a line  together later this year. In addition to walking for Tommy, Gigi strutted her stuff in the Fenty x Puma show; Rihanna’s first runway show as creative director.

We’re already excited to see what the fashion world has in store for us come September. What were your favorite moments? Did one designer blow you away with their collection? Let us know in the comments below.
